While rolling forward, get into position:
Wide stance
Wider than your hips, not too wide you lose balanceToes pointing straight
Not pointing out / duck feetKnees bent
The more bend, the more power to stop.Push outwards from the heels
Focus on pushing the heels.
Tips:
As you get more comfortable, your toes may end up turning in at the end of the stop. This is natural.
Sit into the knee bend!
Common mistakes:
Feet too narrow - cant push out properly
Toes pointing outwards while pushing, resulting in a split position :)
